We love decorating with all kinds of junk that we can find. We wanted a huge sign for our living room shelf that we made so we looked to our workshop for materials.

We have a stack of reclaimed wood that we use for different projects in our shop. We sanded a few pieces and put them together using spare wood screwed to the back.

Then we dry brushed white paint on top.

We always have extra tools on hand. Some we found at the flea markets and some were passed down from family members.

The corner of the sign needed something extra added to it. I drew a heart and painted it red. Then I attached an old skeleton key to finish the look that I wanted.

And here's the finished sign!! This huge sign measures 27" x 29" and is perfect for our shelf. My husband loves it so much because the "L" that I used was passed down from his father who died in 1999. It's really the little things that have the most meaning.
