What to do about tiny black ants?

Saw a mixture on Facebook to get rid of them. 5T.baking soda. 5T. Powdered sugar and 3T water. Suppose to make them explode. They love it. Problem is that instead of taking it back to their nest to share they act disoriented and run wild all over my kitchen counter making the problem worse. I'm talking about dozens of these all running everywhere and I'm trying to squash them. It looks like a war zone. Are there any other ways to get rid of ants? Have two little dogs so have to have something safe.

Have you tried plain white vinegar? I’ve been spraying in my kitchen with it and it kills them and destroys their scent trail. It’s a lot better now

Soak it up with cotton balls and place them in shallow dishes near ant trails.) Resist the urge to kill all the ants you see. They will carry the bait back to the nest, unable to differentiate between the borax and sugar, and the borax particles will eventually kill the entire colony.

Ants are particularly attracted to the scent of sugar and grease. Be proactive and diligent by quickly cleaning any spills. Take care of spills after preparing meals, and use soap or vinegar with water to clean away food. If you only clean with water, you may not entirely eliminate the food scents that attract ants.

I also spray my window sills with Orthro Home Defense.

Try some cornmeal in a jar top. Place several of them around where they come in. They will explode with this. I don't think it will hurt your fur babies. They probably wouldn't even eat it, but the ants love it!

    Here ya go

Mix 1/2 C sugar, 1 1/2 Tbsp Borax, and 1.5 C warm water. Soak cotton balls in the mixture, and put them out near the mess of ants. The sugar attracts the ants, and they'll take the Borax with it back to their

  • I Use packaged cornbread mix that says it is sweetened and put it where they are coming in (if you can find it), or even on your counter in a small lid. They will take it to the mound, everyone will eat it and die, they can't digest the cornmeal, but will take it because it is sweetened. Little goes a long way.

I did some research, since we know what works for one person doesn't always work for another. I found this site and it's pretty informative. I know some tips you may not be able to use but there are some good ones also that will hopefully help.
