It is definitely a succulent, could be in the bromeliad family. They are not hard to grow, don't require much care at all. Occasional watering is just about all.
Thats a bromeliad..... https://www.joyusgarden.com/bromeliad-care-what-you-need-to-know-to-grow-them-indoors/
It is definitely a Bromeliad. They are not related to succulents but are similar in their care. They require bright light and very little fertilizer. Let it dry out between waterings. If you want more info go to BSI.org (Bromeliad society international) Interesting fact: pineapples and Spanish moss are also in the Bromeliad family!!
Thank you for the great information, Holly! I had no idea. I came across it, potted as you can see from this picture, and I had never seen anything like it. I'm going to go onto the website you suggested.
We have many varieties of bromeliads and most are growing in the shade or in filtered light. They bloom and multiply by developing pups on the side.
Oh! That's great information, Charlotte! Thank you so much!
For sure it’s a Brom just need to keep their cups filled with water
This is a variety of Bromeliad. Filtered light and water in the "cup". Bromeliads are "Epiphytes, or Tree dwellers. They catch the rains and nutriants in their "cups"; or the center of the plant where the flower spike comes up from. And yes, pineapples and Spanish moss are in fact in the Bromeliad family!
