Help. I have a boring fence that needs a lift. It’s an older fence and is not being replaced until next year but needs a facelift. I don’t want to put to much weight on it but it needs something ! Any advise.

Have you considered bamboo? There are rolls of bamboo that are attractive and fairly easy to attach to existing fence.

Do you want to fix it from the street side or from your yard? Have you thought of cut outs? Cut out shapes about 1' from the top? Circles, hearts diamonds. Try placing a paper template first before cutting (since you will be replacing the fence next year).

I wouldn't do a darn thing if you are going to replace it next year. In upstate NY you only have about three months until winter rears it's ugly head so it would be a waste of time/money. I would use my time/money planning for the new fence and the embellishments/plantings/fencing style, etc. All of the summer merchandise will be on clearance sales, so now is the time to plan, then shop for next season. Best wishes.

I used simple and inexpensive over the door hangers to hang wreaths and flags on my fence. They work great and can be found inexpensively at the dollar store.

PVC fencing and chain link fencing can be a good option.
