Both holes had to be made to fix leak in upstairs bathroom. 😬 it’s fixed and now I want to repair this ceiling but popcorn white is boring. I thought of faux tin tiles. Seemed expensive..... help! Thank you for reading.

Check the internet for faux tin tiles. They come in many styles and prices vary a lot. On the other hand, consider getting an estimate from a professional to repair the drywall. It may come in lower than you think.

Fill the holes with drywall and tape it. Don't have to be fancy cause you can cover it with bead board, faux tin tiles, ship lap, even wallpaper.

We used wooden fence slats on a kitchen ceiling. It was a cheap way to add interest and cover up an ugly ceiling. We left them natural, but you could dry brush them or paint them.

Consider this. I would repair the drywall, but rather than covering the whole ceiling with faux tin, I would do a large ceiling medallion in the center around your existing fan or light fixture. It could be painted any color you wanted and would be a focal point. I would paint the ceiling in a white or off white.
