I used different sizes of stackable plastic storage drawers. I labeled each handle with the contents of the drawer. I love mine!

Build shelves on all the walls - floor to ceiling - with divided 'cubby holes' in them to sort material, yarns, etc. so they can be easily seen. Make sure to label the cubby holes so things are put back where they belong after you use them. You will be surprised as to the amount of space you have when everything is off the floor and put in their own place; it also makes it simple and easy to see things and to keep your craft room tidy. I speak from experience; I turned a large old TV cabinet on wheels {the tv was 62"wide} into a rolling, cubby holed cabinet for my yarn, crochet thread, hooks, knitting needles, and dozens of pattern books. Then I built the cubby holed shelves on 2 of the walls and moved my sewing machines close to the other 2 walls with material on shelves above the machines. My craft/sewing room suddenly had three times the empty space in which to enjoy my 'work'. Good Luck and enjoy the free space!

I bought 2 of these industrial shelves for my kitchen. I stained the particle boards a darker color but you can also change the boards out for real wood if you want. The shelf is very solid and sturdy. I have since added more pots, appliances, and a wine rack to the shelf so its strong! You can space the shelves out wherever you want depending on the height required.
I am loving having pegboard in my craft room. We also have cubbies mounted to the wall and shelves holding those fabric storage bin. Don't underestimate the vertical space :) https://www.justmeasuringup.com/craft-room-makeover/
