I like the colors in the bricks but I'm not quite sure about the fireplace, is it marble or stone?

It wouldn't be deal breaker but a negotiator on the price. If I wanted a fireplace and the price was very negotiable I would buy. Strange layout, not happy with it being in a weird corner. But has possibilities. If the house had other amenities I was looking for and the price was right and negotiable I could tear out the fireplace. I wouldn't let a weird fireplace sway my decision to buy if that is the house of my dreams.

The stacked stone is too busy for my taste, and the color too dark. I see an opportunity. I would do a light gray wash on the stone on the wall and a slightly darker gray wash on the stone fireplace surround. IMHO.

Thanks for the feedback. The wall surround is stacked stone. The mantle is cast stone.

I like the stacked stone, but the fireplace surround is too white. I would pick one of the colors in the stone and give it a wash.

Do y’all think I should white wash the stacked stone to blend in with the mantle, OR darken the white mantle to blend in with the stack stone?

I would make sure the walls are painted a lighter neutral taupe perhaps one or two shades lighter than the current color. do a sheer color wash to darken the fireplace surround to blend better with the stacked stone. With a little adjustment the area will pop. It looks like the fireplace surround was an attempt to tie in the floor, which is pretty light. But it is a fail in my opinion, it looks like an afterthought. To select the color wash paint some cardboard different shades and set it in the area for a few days so you can determine which you really like. Good luck !
