What type of dog proof screening is there that isn't chicken wire?

I have a large covered back porch that is part of the house and extends onto a deck. My dog used to jump on the screening to the point where it became detached from the spline holding it in. There is a metal portion located on the floor that extends upwards about six inches for what is used to attach the screen to, but that can be taken apart. There is also dog door I would somehow like to keep, if possible. I would like the area screened in so the bugs are kept out and we can still sit out on the porch in inclement weather. But I don't want chicken wire or poles inserted into cement as both would be ugly and or would require a permit. I need some type of material that would withstand jumping animals, is bug proof and see through.

There is screening material made for pets, so it is more heavy duty. As far as the screening coming out at the spline, that will probably happen no matter what is put in for screening. The only way to avoid that is to have the lower aluminum come up much higher. You should be able to keep the dog door, no matter what you do, you just may need to reinstall it after you are done.
They should have screen material by the roll in the window and door department. I know I have seen it at both Menard's and Home Depot, I don't know about Lowes. Go back to the window and door department and they should be able to show you where it is. You could also ask them about some aluminum sheeting you could put up where you need it, they may also help figure out how you should put it into the existing screening you have to keep the dogs from ruining the screen. You could try putting a bit of lattice on the screen to protect it.
You can also order from them online, they may have it there if they don't stock it. We only have one Home Depot where I live, so they have a little of everything! If you have a Menards, they may have it, too, again check out the area of the windows and screen doors. When we lived in Florida for a few years, we were always replacing screen in our lanai due to our dogs. I got real good at replacing it only using a scissors and a screwdriver! A lot of times it didn't even stretch out so I could reuse the same piece over multiple times.
