Computer/Printer Connection

Is this off limits? I use an HP computer & printer/scanner/fax combination. I have attempted several times to connect them so that printer is useful. The power cord from printer is plugged into computer; I have followed simple instructions without success. Is another connection needed? Can some savvy person tell me what is missing? I really miss being able to use the printer. Thanks very much. I like to think I can fix things; obviously this simple thing I cannot fix.icon

  • Ha! I hope you have success! Several years ago I purchased a rather expensive HP printer / scanner. I was not able to get it to work either. Had a service come out to try and help. They told me my computer was "old" when in fact it was brand new out of the box! Finally the IT guys from work came out and hooked it up. I don't recall what the exact problem was, but they did get it to work. If you hire a service make sure you have a no fix no pay agreement.

Not sure that this will help. we have an HP combo too. When I print from my IPad, I have to go to setting on my IPad and change the WiFi setting to the HP printer. Had to start doing that after an update to something. Hope you find the help you need.

Most new printers connect to computer using USB cords. There should be a cord included with the printer. The power cord goes into wall as usual. http://globalprintersolution.co.in/service_for_hp_printer.html

Use this link to get HP help.

The power cord plugs into the wall or a power strip if you use one. A USB cable from the printer plugs to the computer. You computer should recognize the printer and configure it or you can install the software for the printer.

When I encounter some problems with my printer, I’m looking for an overview of my model on YouTube and most often I find solutions to various problems there. By the way, what ink do you use ?? Perhaps this is somehow connected with your problem. I used ink cartridges, but then they started to produce low-quality ink and I had to change the supplier. Almost immediately, I found out about the huge range of the company https://www.mrdepot.ca. I contacted them and ordered several types of ink, and to be honest the quality was just amazing and it is compatible with almost any printer!
