How do i redo a butcher block with resin instead of varnish?

I want to redo a butcher block top on my cabinet but i don't want to put varnish on it i want to use a resin.

    A butcher block is not normally varnished or coated with resin. It is oiled with food safe oil. Any varnish or resin would show cut marks. The oil does not.

      not going to use it for cutting anything on it, i hate butcher blocks anyway, just using it to put things on top nothing more. Thanks anyway.

    If you want it to look like plastic, put resin on it. If you want a quality look use bees wax and then polish it. This will make it water repellent but you will have to redo as the wax goes into the butcher block.

      not using it for cutting and it won't look like plastic if done right, i have someone to do it that specializes in this found them after i posted. thanks anyway.

    I would use a mold and resin. Make it especially cool with some detail like rock, or found items
