I've made several outside lights, most are solar, I really love those! But sometimes I need a little more light than that and I really don't want to turn on the porch light...
so I made another type of light I could hang on the wall! icon
I made this mirror with glow in the dark paint and had it hanging for maybe a week before I took it back part! It was not what I wanted so back into the pile of "must save but not sure for what yet" pileicon ! It sat there for over a year!
Well I finally figured out what I wanted to do ! Make a light for outside on the porch! I'm redoing the layout on the porch and need more light at night without turning on the big porch light. I did have some other lights I had made for out there but the first one I made kept falling over when the wind would come through! Drove me crazy so I made another light (solar this time) but it was not bright enough! icon
this was so easy to make all I really did was just spray painted it a pretty blue, put 4 little 3M double sided tape pieces to the back of the light then pressed it inside the hole of the ceiling medallion!
And WA LA, finished!! I hear the third time's a charm and I think this one will work great! It hangs on the wall, very bright and has been through windy days and nights now, still right where I put it! YAY!!icon That little push button light I got on Amazon for under $4 and the ceiling medallion was a trash day find!icon
A picture of the the night time glow! Thanks for looking and like always, any questions or comments are always welcomed!!icon

I love this! How did you hang it on the wall? I must have missed something. Thanks for your help and for a great idea!

    Hi Jenn

Awesome idea!! Looks really great. Any chance you could give me the exact name of the push light you bought on Amazon? It looks really bright for the front porch. So I want to make sure I get the exact one.

    Thanks,

    Anita

Oh my gosh, how creative. I've had one of those medallions in my 'don't know what to do with it pile' for over a year too.

(I didn't even know it was called that till I read your post - so thanks for that) I kept it bc it was so pretty. Now I can finally use it on our new covered porch! Thanks for sharing your great idea. 💙

Thank you! It's very useful, especially when it's dark outside and you can't find the right key to open up the door😄!

You will have to share a picture when you are finished😉!
