How to redo my laminate countertops?

I'm a renter but I've been redoing a very old style kitchen where I am currently living. I've read on all the cabinets with white and now I need to do something with my laminate countertop. My walls are going to be a very deep blue. So here's the countertops now and I'd appreciate any suggestions you may have for how I could redo without spending a ton of money. Thank you so much.

at big box diy there are sheets of counter tops, its very thin, formica was the brand i used, you need rubber cement to glue it in place.

A less expensive and easier method would be to paint the countertop. There are kits you can purchase to make the countertop look like granite or marble. See the link below

i used a jig saw fine tooth blade, and a metal ruler clamped down to keep the cuts straight. first, i determined where my cut would be , then put the blue tape over it and re marked the cut line. the tape kept the top from splintering.

That was on the web site, when I cut mine I did it with a jig saw and a fine tooth blade, I put blue painters tape on the sheet marked my cut line putting a clamped metal yardstick in place to keep the cut straight. Go slowly.

fine tooth saw blade in the jig saw. lay down a strip of painters tape mark your cut line, use a metal yard stick to make a "fence" so the cut is straight.
