My A/C isn't blowing cold air?

Perhaps your coolant is leaking. Sometimes takes 3 trips before leak is found or situation corrected completely. Any evidence of drips in basement beneath tubing can be an indicator. Have a technician check it out, soon.

It may need refrigerant. Also have your High pressure and Low Pressure switches checked, they may have been bypassed or 1 may have been bypassed and the other wasn't. Yours sounds exactly the way mine was acting over a week ago and my ac guy came and checked it out and noticed the switches were bypassed, well at least 1 of them was.

or the biggest cause for it not cooling is your outside unit is dirty try getting it cleaned with chemicals that get into the coils on the outside before adding freon to the unit I've found out this is usually the problem if you've never had it serviced

Sounds like you do need Freon. Call an HVAC pro.

Thanks to all for your thoughts on the matter, I appreciate it. After checking the capacitor, contactor, condensation collection tray, that the area was free and clear of debris, that there wasn't any "funny" sounds, that there was good air flow and new filters, I've called someone to come out and service it as I know nothing about Puron or the higher skill level items that might be at issue.

A quick and easy way to check if the condenser (outside unit) is working correctly is that the LOW Pressure SIde (large pipe usually with insulation) is Cold to the touch and might have moisture condensate on it and the HIGH Pressure Side (small pipe w/ no insulation) is Hot to the touch. Warm Air should also be blowing out the top of the condenser unit to show that the heat from inside the house is being blown into the outside air. If you're really low on Freon/Puron, for damage prevention the compressor pump will not run, though the condenser fan might still blow air. When the compressor pump is actually running inside the condenser unit, you'll hear a more noticeable "growling" sound. The condenser fan by itself is relatively quiet. Good luck..

Phil, Cathy, you're absolutely right. Everything on the unit was working fine but turns out it was pretty much completely out of Puron. They loaded it back up and pressure was holding. They're coming back later today to inject some sort of leak stop that coats the pipes and hopefully that should take care of it.
