Make A Colorful Jute Wrapped Flowerpot – Easy & Beautiful!

If you love crafting, you are going to flip over this colorful jute wrapped flowerpot. It’s so easy to create and makes a stunning decorative element inside or outside your home.
A few years ago, I discovered the joy of working with jute (rope) and have created so many beautiful decorative elements for my home and garden. It’s so relaxing and easy to work with and always allows you to create the most beautiful creative decor for your home and garden.
I’m going to show you just how easy it is to make, and you can put any creative twist on it your heart and imagination desires!
What You Will Need:
- Flowerpot – I used a clay pot
- Glue Gun and glue sticks
- Jute or Rope
- Scissors
- 2 or 3 colorful paints – you can decide just how much color you want to add
I decided to upcycle a silk floral arrangement in a clay pot I had for a few years. It was so drab and needed something else like more color and texture. You can use an empty clay pot or any flowerpot you have handy.
1 – Wrap The Jute – begin by carefully wrapping the jute around the flowerpot. I like to start at the bottom and work my way to the top. Just use a small stream of glue from your glue gun and remember to not over do it when applying the glue.
Be sure to press the jute tightly together so there aren’t any spaces between each jute layer.
Along the way, if you any long strands of twine from the jute you can trim them to keep things neat and tidy.
I decided to leave the trim free from jute because I wanted to paint it a soft pastel color so the beautiful silk flowers would still stand out. , but you can wrap the entire flowerpot if you decide that’s the look you are after.
Paint The Trim – I used Fusion Mineral paint Inglenook, but you can use any paint color you like.
You can wrap the trim with jute too - it's all up to the look you are after!
Paint The Jute – Now, you can begin to paint the jute. It’s here you can get creative and create any pattern you like. Be sure to use a smaller bristled paintbrush as you want to be precise when painting the jute.
For the bottom, I decided to go with an ombre style and used three colors to achieve it.
And that’s it! This took about an hour to complete, and I so love the way it turned out.
