Vintage Buffet Makeover

This old buffet is part of a set. My old boss was going to get rid of it but then decided that he and his wife would like to give it a new look instead. So along with the matching china cabinet, he asked me to give it a layered and worn old world gray makeover. Gray always seems like a great idea for a color choice. It gives furniture a new look while still keeping it somewhat neutral.
The buffet is actually not in great shape. THere are pieces breaking off and chipped veneer. This makes painting it not such a bad idea, right?
The buffet is thoroughly sanded and cleaned.
The chipped veneer is addressed as best as possible, which means in some areas it was simply removed if needed.
The buffet is painted in a base coat of gray. You can find great quality furniture paint HERE.
The buffet is then layered in soft shades of grays and lightly distressed.
We managed to keep the original hardware with the piece. The hardware is cleaned and painted to a sort of oil rubbed bronze.
