DIY ideas for a stump in the yard?

I recently moved into a new house and have a large stump in the backyard. Any ideas on how to remove it or do something with it to hide it?

Could you plant tall flower all around? Or maybe use it to place a plant holder?
do you have a friend with a chain saw? have them cut it back to just below ground level, so you can mow over it.
Howe about a fairy house?
Depending on where it's at and how tall it is, make a table around it and use it as an out door dining table?
drill holes and fill with epson salt. It will slowly die out. It takes time though not an over the night fix.
