How do I decide if white kitchens will stay in style?

If you try to keep up with what color is “IN”, you could be changing the color of your cabinets often. I believe oak is out for quite a while and colors are definitely in. You can’t go wrong with white. Then you can decorate your kitchen in any color you want. The most important thing is what “you” like because you will be living with it every day.

I would not worry about what is in "style". Paint it to please you. White is always in style. Light and bright is always a good look for a kitchen.

Trends in kitchen cabinets trend to cycle, and wood cabinets will at some point come back around. My guess is that white will be popular for at least the next 5 years, so go for it!

White has been around for quite some time even at a prior residence built in the late 1990s. I do believe it requires more upkeep to keep spotless —keeping fingerprints and spots away. Its difficult to repair- that’s my only hesitation with white after having light and dark wood tones. Currently have white shaker cabinets.

I think hardware makes it either up to date or dated...i try to find stuff that I think will always look cool with my cabinets but not too trwndy of times so you can date it.
