  • I would try a Magic Eraser, it seems to really help with getting spot mold stains out for me.

    Hi Pat,

I used Krud Kutter on all my outdoor furniture, and had great results. I sprayed the Krud Kutter, let it sit for probably about 30 minutes, and scrubbed the mesh with a scrub bush. When I hosed them off they looked pretty darn good! There are also various Krud Kutter formulas, and I've never had bad results from any. I've used the kitchen, mold&mildew, carpet cleaner, and heavy duty.

Home Depot/Lowes carry a product called Spray it & Forget it that removes mold from outdoor furniture. It runs around $15 and is easy to use. Check out their video on their website.

I use 1 of these 2 ways depending on the fabric care tag, as sometimes the vinegar 1 will break down the mesh( not too often does this happen) But I mix 2 cups of white vinegar with 2 tbs of liquid DISH soap in bucket of hot water. Use a soft brush to work in the groves. Let it sit for a bit and then rinse. I keep a spray bottle around with vinegar in it and as soon as I see some mildew starting a give a quick spray it wipes off right away. If you are worried about the vinegar breaking down the mesh, then try this. Brush lightly with soft bristle brush. Dilute 1 tbs of POWDERED Laundry detergent in cup of warm water until detergent is dissolved. Using just a cloth start at top of chair and work down in small circles. Rinse. I have started spraying all my outdoor furniture with waterproof spray and cushions too. Always have dry seats and helps stop them from getting dirty and mildew.

I use a bleach and water mixture. Spray on, let sit for about 10 minutes and hose off! I do it every year on my patio furniture. Works wonderfully! Good luck!

Thanks so much for everyone’s help! Going to try to tackle this today before we get even MORE RAIN!

Done! Scrubbed with a bristled brush and used bathroom cleaner- “scrub free” with bleach. Wouldn’t have thought of this without your suggestions! Thanks again!

  • You could try a power washer, set at a low pressure so as not to blow out or stretch the fabric. Diluting some Simple Green in a spray bottle would definitely do the trick.

  • We love a product called Simple Green. We find it Home Depot. It works fabulously with the power washer, but it also works well with a scrub brush. It's better than bleach because bleach can yellow whites over time and it can also eat away at the fabric.

Use Awesome from the Dollar Tree & a scrub brush. Or the Dollar store version of Oxyclean.

You need to add a booster to the pressure washing. Whichever you choose, make sure you let it sit for a while before washing off. Awesome, Krud Kutter, Simple Green, would all be good options.
