How to identify unusual succulent ?

Looks like hens $ chickens...needs very little care. If inside place in window. Outside they will pretty much grow anywhere. They look great in between spaces in rock walls.

It's hen and chickens. Easy to grow and they keep getting bigger and bigger. If planted in ground they will come back next year. ENJOY!

I have some and they are not hens & chicks. Around now, they will grow purple flower spikes here in Southern California. Why don't you plant some outside in an area that needs some plant embellishment? They will take hold and spread out into space around the originals. Trim when they outgrow the space you want them to stay in. You can transplant them to other areas, I've found that if you cut a piece and immediately stick it in the ground, it will root and settle in where you placed it. Of course, you can also put them in a glass of water, and they'll root. They like some shade.

Judy, this is Sedum. There are many varieties of it. Look through these pics and see if you can find yours, or take it to a garden center and ask, someone there will know. Sedum is a succulent. I have five different varieties and love them all. They come in many shades of green, yours is beautiful.
