Nature's Miracle pet stain and odor remover. It has a bio-enzyme in it to help remove the odor that pets can smell and pee in the same spot.

Make a paste of baking soda and scrub it in with an old toothbrush. It will clean and refresh it in one step.

Get powered Oxi-Clean. Depending on size of stain, start with 2 tbsp of powered Oxi-Clean power and mix with 2 tbsp very warm water in small SQUARTER BOTTEL not SPRAY BOTTLE. Squirt are with liberal amount of oxi-Clean and water mixture and scrub very hard with nail scrub brush. Rinse out warm washcloth and blot over stain and then repeat with dry washcloth. BE SURE ALL WASHCLOTHERS ARE WHITE IN COLOR SO COLOR WON'T FADE ON RUG. Repeat if necessary as many times it takes to remove stains. On the very last try after try apply dry white washcloth and stomp up and down on it to remove all the liquid you can. Please let me know how it works. I find I can remove almost any stain with this remedy.

Nature's Miracle is a good product. There's also a product called Folex. I purchased a bottle at Bed Bath & Beyond. I saw it at Lowes and on Amazon as well. I don't know about pet stains but it got port wine out of my beige carpet! Good luck!
