How do i clean and keep clean dark brown carpet?

I got stains all over my carpet, from kids ive tryed shampooing it, but that really dont work, so exspensive to replace with new, i wish i could afford to replace with wood flooring

You could try using a pre-treatment for stains. Let it sit for a while to give it time to work and/or scrub it into the stains. There should be directions on the container. Then shampoo your carpet. I like to add about 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide to the carpet cleaning product when I do my carpet, but mine is beige, so test that because it might take out some color. Wishing you the best.
Just a thought - while you are wishing for new flooring - don't spend too much trying to clean the old brown carpet. Do you know for sure what is actually under your carpet?

In the meantime, you could just put an area rug over the old carpet to brighten things up.
