My garage is a mess! I need the floor fixed and everything organized. Been thinking about doing a epoxy finish on it, but needs a lot of fixing up first. Some walls are not finished with plywood.

Hi Kim! You are correct--your garage floor is a mess! It looks very uneven, rough and it's cracking--which you know. I certainly wouldn't go to the expense of putting an epoxy finish on this and I don't think you could fix it up enough without doing some major work to make it nice. I am wondering if you don't need some new concrete in this area. If this was my garage floor I would check and see what could be done as far as some new cement work.

I have seen garage vinyl flooring that can be rolled out to cover the floor. Doing an epoxy paint is also an answer, but you will need to do some major crack repair, power washing, and labor to get it prepared for the painting.

Hello Kim,. You'll need to do the garage floor last. Straighten up the things you have, and put those things in clear plastic totes. Your going to need a new floor. Try finding someone at Homeadvisor, preferably a mason. This can't be patched, too many cracks and that big hole. Do it right, you'll enjoy your garage, when it looks nice

You need to talk to a concrete person. They do this for a living and will know the best thing to do. There is a concrete that has fibers in it...like fiber glass. That might work.

It looks like to me someone put a skim coat of concrete over the original floor that that is what is peeling or cracking Knowing me I would try to pry it up and see

Looks like a concrete base then years later someone put another concrete layer over top and that is what is peeling cause they did not bond together

I would talk to someone in the trade it looks as though it is failing. not a surface issue. The surface issues are in the range less than an inch in depth and are not over more than a over 25% of the area. without having it repaired. Hope that helps.

I gotta agree with Delores. It looks like someone tried to recoat the concrete and did a terribly lousy job. You would need to remove anything that is loose a falling apart. Then you can resurface the concrete with Quickcrete or Sackcrete resufacing cement.
