I will never be using it in the washer, so I’m wondering if people have come up with other uses for it please?

It can be used to help remove wallpaper. Mix with water and sponge on the wallpaper, wait a few minutes, then start scraping!

If your new jeans are stiff and scratchy, soak them in a bucket with water and lots of fabric softener over night and then wash as usual. Makes them soft like they are broken in for weeks.

Cal, fabric softener is as good as detangler in your hair. Put it in a spray bottle and keep in the bathroom. It’s also great to spray on a plastic shower curtain if the curtain starts clinging to you. Soak jewelry in it to remove grime, but not tarnish. If you clean your carpet or rugs yourself, not in a washer, then diluted fabric softener makes an excellent deodorizer and soften. Just sponge it on top of the carpet after cleaning the carpet. Let it completely dry, then vacuum. To clean hanging drapes and upholstery, use a teaspoon of softener to a cup of warm water, plus a drop or two of Dawn. Add it to the cleaning solution you use to clean your vehicle, top to bottom on the inside. Add it to the warm water you are using to remove wallpaper and popcorn ceilings. Use it straight for a finger-soaking solution before a manicure, and diluted for a foot soak, to soften rough heels and toes. So many more, but maybe these will get you started. Best wishes. ☺️

P.S. I’m going to ask a similar question about mouthwash ifbyou want to add ideas.

Wow, lots of ideas for me. Who would have known. Thanks very much. With mouthwash.....hmmm I don’t have any answers for that, but good luck.
