How do we drill screws into that horrible asbesto siding?
I would like to hang stuff on our outside siding but hubby is afraid to drill holes in it. claims it will crack and break

It probably would break. It also shouldn't be drilled or broken, due to releasing asbestos particles into the air.
its probably not really asbestos. thats what we called it when we were kids. its really not asbestos but still has the brittle quality. It was very popular in the 50's and 60's before the popularity of steel siding
