How do I hide a popcorn ceiling?

Have heard about ceiling tiles that are easy to install. Would like any advice on this or other ideas

My dad scraped some of ours off in my childhood home, but that took forever and was really disruptive. He ended up putting drywall over the rest of them.

You could scrape it off and paint it smooth. Or put tin ceiling tiles up over the existing popcorn ceiling. I hired a professional painting/popcorn removal co. to do my entire house. They were in and out and no mess.
