How can I get rid of small ants in my kitchen?

I’ve tried all the various types of ant traps + spraying them as they come across my counter but they keep coming back. They seem to be getting in through the plumbing for my dishwasher & are living under the counter somehow. Would really prefer a natural solution since I use the counter for food prep.

Have you used Terro? I prefer that. Just put it out for a few days and that’s all it takes. Do not clean up the dead ants! The live ones take them back to the nest and poison the colony. Put terro bait stations close to source of entry. After a few days of messiness clean it all up and your done!

Thanks I will keep trying the Terroans won’t clean up as I haven been doing. Don’t think I’ve got them all yet 🐜🐜🐜😬

  • This is the most effective all-natural ant spray and method that we use. Good luck! Hugs, Holly

Thanks Holly. I have been using the Terro traps and they work very well with the larger sized ants I get downstairs but the little guys don’t seem to go into the traps. I had been cleaning up but will stop doing that and hope the rest of the herd take home their dead.

i will try to source the other product you suggested as the one I’m using now smells quite toxic and I don’t like to use it on the counter.

      Thanks a lot

  • Hi Yra,

I Use packaged cornbread mix that says it is sweetened and put it where they are coming in (if you can find it), or even on your counter in a small lid. They will take it to the mound, everyone will eat it and die, they can't digest the cornmeal, but will take it because it is sweetened. Little goes a long way.

I did some research, since we know what works for one person doesn't always work for another. I found this site and it's pretty informative. I know some tips you may not be able to use but there are some good ones also that will hopefully help.
