How can i update my old kitchen cabinets ?
I'd like to update my Cabnets. The framing is good wood but the door style is out dated and hallow core. Also, as I get older I find it's harder to bend down and locate items in the lower Cabnets. I'd like drawers or sliding shelves for easy access. I have a galley kitchen and would like to redesign what's here to keep from adding to our landfills.

Hi Jay, you can resurface your cabinets with new doors at a fraction of the cost then replacing the cabinets completely. You could paint your cabinet boxes to match your new doors and add new hardware to really give the whole place a facelift.
I would check your local home improvement center for costs on what refacing might be as well as cabinet drawer inserts that you could install yourself.
I have wire slide out shelves in all my lower cabinets and I love them. I am 72 and they are worth what ever it costs to do it. Not hard to install for a handyman. I could have done it myself but like you I can no longer bend or get down on the floor.
I did install these myself... easy peasy.
