Leave a 1/8 inch reveal around the edges, so that they can open and close without catching. Doors are generally a standard size- 32 inches, 36 inches wide and 80 inches tall.

Hi Dorothy! Can you be more specific? You said "doors"....does that mean you're cutting into a wall or walls to install doors, or putting up doors where there is already an opening. Hanging a door requires really precise measurements. You need to measure several things....the opening, the width of the wall, the door itself...trim molding or even a frame.

HD and Lowes sell doors that already have the frame and door hanging. Browse their interior doors. Talk to their specialist in that area and sketch a loose drawing of what you are doing.

Keep in mind to check for studs or any electrical wiring that may be behind the sheet rock. Good luck.

Thank you for your response. I am remodeling a mobile home. Replacing floors with 3/4" plywood and paneling on walls with sheetrock. The openings are ending up quite narrow and not all the same. I've resigned to making doors and have a good idea what it will take but not sure exactly how to measure.
