How do you kill beetles on roses?

    Easiest way-get a guinea fowl. they will eat them. Otherwise, use an insecticide labeled for use on roses.

    I have Japanese Beetles on my roses....very destructive. I sprayed them with Sevin....didn't faze them....like giving them a bath. Might not have been strong enough. So as a last resort, I had a can of ant killer. Sprayed that on the rose with the beetles and they dropped off onto the ground belly up. Evidently something in the ant killer (was a spray can) did them in. Not suggesting everyone should use the same stuff but Sevin did not do the job for me. The Japanese Beetles can be found on hostas (chewed holes in leaves) also. I would suggest you ask your Extension Office what you can use for the Beetles.
