What can I do with a round plastic mint container?

I don't want to throw it away, it may be useful for something. I'd like to cover it with a cute cloth but I have no idea how.

  • It can be used to store coins, paperclips, pins...any small crafting items, like beads. Since it's plastic, why not use contact paper?

    Hi Margot,

Cut Strip of fabric wide enough to fit around middle of container + .5" to tuck under base when V's are cut out of it to allow for fit. Cut 2 x Circles of fabric the size of the top and bottom. Use Mod Podge to glue fabric around box and tuck under and cut out V's and stick down to bottom. Stick Base on top. Work the same way with Lid. Trim with a braid or Ribbon to finish off. Enjoy the Project...............

You can use Modge Podge on the tin. Paint the tin with Modge Podge and then place fabric over it. When it's dry, add another layer of Mod Podge.

Spray paint might be your best bet. Open the container and place it upside down on newspaper then give it a quick coat of spray paint in your favorite color. You can add a chalkboard label to the top or decoupage any other kind of label on to it using Modge Podge from the craft store!
