How to transplant a potted lavender plant to ground for winter ?

I’d like to keep my outdoor lavender plant that’s been potted over the winter in the ground. Is it likely to live?

You need to know if your lavender will survive in your zone. Not all varieties will survive being planted outside, in all seasons.
Hi Debbie, If it is English Lavender, probably Yes, If French, possibly No.
Yes it will die down and then come back every year bigger I do it every year
