Toilet is next to vanity, big space on wall, not sure what to do with it?

Just another picture

Also need something above towels, big bare spot. Just redid the floor with creamy vinyl planking. Quartz counter with small veins of navy. Got rid of shower doors and hung shower curtain with apricot flowers and tan . You can see the curtain in the mirror on other picture. Still need to replace light with oil brushed bronze light, also pulls and hindges.

Wall art containing colors in your shower curtain, or of a more country theme; multiple open glass shelves to contain items atop toilet tank lid.

I think for the space above the toilet, I would use a series of baskets, in varying sizes but all in colors close to the honey oak, and all of a very similar depth. I would hang them on the wall to use as shelves, for all sorts of bathroom goods...maybe a round basket to hold rolled hand towels to suit your color scheme, a square one to hold soaps and sponges, a larger rectangular one to hold rolls of tissue. I am not sure about the towel rack space. Is the towel bar centered? If not, I would center it, anything off kilter makes me a little nutsy. I don't know that I would even rehang that towel bar...I've seen lots of interesting towel hangers, from large hooks to porcelain hands to driftwood racks. Something that could give the towels a staggered placement (hooks placed in a wide W shape, for example) would fill up a lot of that wall. Over the top, either a large gilt framed mirror, or an oil painting or whimsical print in a good frame to pick up your color scheme.

    Hi Susan,

I would go for either a strong colour paint that you find uplifting and Artwork you find inspirational and Amber glass shelves with plants on over Toilet area, or All over patterned wallpaper..............or a combination. Enjoy the process.

I'm a plumbers wife, and if you have children space above the toilet should be reserved for artwork to avoid things accidentally falling in. I would maybe do a some shelves over the towel rack if you are looking for additional storage.

If you want more storage, I agree with folks about some shelves and baskets. If you think that will make it too claustrophobic and just want some art on the walls, there are many options. The stencils of words are popular now and would look nice in those spaces. Any sort of canvas type art with colors you find complimentary to your decor would work also (try Home Goods store or online at Wayfair or Overstock for sizes you need). You can even get an artistic friend to paint something directly on the wall - like a fake window with meadow of flowers outside.
