Small bedroom ceiling?

is a 14x14 room to small to paint your ceiling other than white? Or shiplap?

A ceiling can be painted any color that you may have your heart set upon. Keep in mind though, that any color other than white will absorb light, both from the windows, and from any light fixtures.
You may need auxillary lighting to compensate for the increased feeling of 'being closed in' that may result from the dark ceiling.
What color are the walls? If the walls are white, the effect can be stunning, however, there has to be contrast between the dark and the light to achieve the needed balance.
I would say it isn't too small. They paint ceilings all the time in rooms of all sizes on TLC and HGTV.
I am a old woman and I hate, hate hate cutting in a ceiling, so I have painted the ceiling and walls the same color for years, everyone loves it, so go for it,any how it is your room, heck I have seen where they put up floral wall paper and it looked fabulous and it was in a bathroom , I hope this helps xx
All the ceilings in my home are painted. I don't think it's the size of the room that matters, but how well the room is accessorized.
