I had the siding on my mobile home washed last year. Now it is getting all this black dirtt like stuff along the north and south sides but my neighbors houses are ok. Could it be from my old roofing?

It could possibly be rain water washing dirt etc from your roof. It could also be mud splashing up from flower beds you might have along the house. Or it could be a type of mold perhaps... Can you post a picture? Is it easy to wipe off or does it seem to stain when you wipe it off?

Absolutely, Pat. Your old roof might have asbestos in it because that retards fire. But whether the roof has anything bad in it or not, the power washing, plus weather and age, are causing the fine gravel to run off the roof. If you can clim a ladder, go to there you can see the roof and spot missing shingles. If you can touch the shingles, rub your hand over them. If a lot of gravel comes off easily, that’s your situation. (Another problem is if your gutters are full of dead leaves.) If your roof has made it to ten years, you probably need a new roof. Read the fine print. A 10-30 year guarantee is only on the correct manufacture of the shingles. Maybe you have a guarantee for new shingles and the labor to put them on. Or your home insure may cover it. And you might be able to do the work yourself. My husband and I roofed his mother’s small house — until it started sleeting! Best wishes, Pat. ☺️

If you live in a damp area and have lots of shade trees, you might have mold or mildew on the sides of your home.

When I pulled vines off my siding, it was hard to remove the green and black residue from under the vines.

In the gardening section of your neighborhood store look for a product to apply along with your hose to kill the stains.
