What is the subfloor made of?
Yes you can paint the subfloor, even if it is only pressed wood. Purchase a good "blocker" such as Kilz or Zinsser and coat the floor first with that or some paints will just keep absorbing into the subfloor (depending on what it is). Then you can choose a color you love for the top coat (probably two) and then seal with clear poly sealer for easy maintenance.
Don’t forget to fill cracks and crevices along with screw holes.
Sand them first then add to seams and un even areas Dab flexible wood putty let dry sand again then prime with 123 Zinser or Grabber then I use floor and patio paint and seal with polyurethane
