I shop online now. I'm looking for the same material my comforter is made of. It's shiny...

  • And I do not for that very reason. Generally the descriptions are extremely poor and /or information is missing. Look for a place where it provides a fabric description. Typically there is a "description" Tab and a "specifications" Tab. Hopefully listed somewhere under product description.

If there is not a fabric content label on your comforter, you could take it, a matching sham or accessory to the fabric store and someone should be able to identify the fabric. It could be a wide variety of fabrics, i.e., polished cotton, sateen, actual satin (doubtful, but possible), a blend of fabrics, the list goes on. Today's mfging processes can create so many textures. If you know the make, style name, etc., a long shot would be to do a search and possibly find some detailed information. Good luck.

    Hi Barbara,

Look at the fabric label attached to your comforter, it will describe what the material is.

I've read the label...I think. I will cross my fingers and hope it's all the same thing. I want that exact fabric because I discovered it is not a cat hair magnet...thanks for the replies!

Had no idea you were seatching for a cat hair product from your original post, best of all to you.

Not cat hair product.. I want to make comforters, duvet covers but I need a fabric like the one on my bed now. That fabric, whatever it is, doesn't let hair get embedded in it...that's all.

If there is a fabric shop near you, take it in to the establishment, and they should be able to help you with what you need. If nothing else, they probably could suggest something that will work for what you want.
