How can i make this outside window look better??
As you can see in the picture we have a trellis but it's too tall to go underneath the window sill and not tall enough to reach the top of the window. What can I do to make the window look better?

HI Maggie,
I would actually move the arbor to the side of the window, or in another spot. I would then add a flower box under the window and plant annuals that would trail down. To keep your clematis you could put smaller trellis's on each side of the window and train them to grow in those. I use twist ties. Good Luck!
The trellis looks pretty sturdy. I would be curious how it looks flipped up side down. Rake rocks so you have a level area, put down a ‘platform’ of flat pavers to keep it level and prevent trellis from sinking into ground over time. Then cut legs to the proper height so you can mount a ‘window box’ to legs under window-don’t have to attach anything to house. Add shutters like previous suggestion and I think it would be cute. If you wanted to go further, you could paint trellis a different color.
Is the trellis supposed to block view of window? If yes consider moving heart frame from ground to top of trellis, small climbing plant with color (flower or leaves) to grow on it or netting wrap it to bring eyes up. No don't want blocked consider shifting and brackting with matching trellis for other side. Clean and paint window frame. Consider new brite curtains inside, temp window sticker (moon motifs). OR...GO CRAZY After moving lattice make a water feature under window...sounds and distraction, what a show.
I use privacy latice. Plactic type from home depot. Suspend with frame of two by fours.
How about some beautiful flowerboxes. You can you still bits and anchors made for just that. Also, the shutter idea is a really nice one that would go well with your brick 😎

My thought is shutters and a window box with some very colorful flowers and trailing vines.
Add trim around the window. That would be like adding eyeliner around your eyes. It would sort of make it stand out a little more. I would move the trellis to the side of the window and add something perhaps a window box with some colorful flowers.
Like most others are saying, I would move the trellis,it's to short for the window, but at the same time you haven't said wether or not you want the window blocked, to me the trellis is the sore to the area.put up shutters and window flower boxes, use small iron outdoor yard table set and where the green Moss is.replace with a nice size water fountain, find a place in your yard for the trellis and put climbing roses on each side, you can make simple trellis for your vines to grow up on,mix and match the color scheme in colors you love that relax you. The table patio set and fountain can both be purchased at home Depot or Lowe's,eny home improvement store should carry what you need. Good luck

I can't see the entire exterior but it looks like a boxy ranch circa 1960ish. You could clad from the window sill up w wide cedar planks horizontally in a natural finish. Paint the brick. It will start looking more midcentury modern.
Move the trellis. Put the cherub and heart elsewhere...it looks like a memorial. 😎
Move the trellis and add some homemade shutters. Three vertical boards attached to 2 horizontal boards and cut a star in the middle of the 3 vertical boards with a jig saw before you assemble it. Leave the grey weather wood or paint them dark blue like the midnight sky. They will match your trellis hanging and you will have the sun moon and stars. What more could a person ask for:)
You could add some shutters possibly or maybe a little flower box underneath the window. Maybe try moving the trellis to the side if you do these options so that the window can make a bigger statement!
