Hi Trica,

Fix the end of the rod into a heavy base by drilling out a hole and sticking it in firmly with a good suitable adhesive. Tape the electric cable at intervals down the length of the Rod, leaving enough cable to be able to take a bulb bayonet and enough cable to form a lead with a plug on end. Fix bayonet and you are ready for a bulb. If you want it to arch -

maybe use fishing line with Artificial /Timber etc. fish attached to weight it. NB: It maybe possible to use a Rod stand as base? Have fun. Don't forget to get the wiring checked out by qualified electrician or maybe they would do it for you - you never know!

i have seen one where they made a base to hold the rod. Almost like a arm lamp. They treaded the wires thro the real up the ole throu the eyes til the end which had the socket & light bulb. They did not had a shade but you could make one out of a minno bucket or fishing basket. Hope this helps & if you do make it please post it. Love to see it.
