Upcycled vintage suitcase

I've had my grandfathers suitcase for years and kept it for purely sentimental reasons. As they've come in to popularity recently, I knew I would use it when the right inspiration came along.
This Fall our son is getting married in an outdoor farm wedding. My future daughter in law has chosen rustic/vintage/chic. More reason to love her!!
The color wasn't going to work with the wedding decorations so step one was to mask off the hardware and paint it.
Next I used scrapbook papers to cover the suitcase in a random patchwork design.
Amongst the scrapbook paper I also tucked in some family momentos. Then I wrapped the handle with twine.

This will sit next to a large open trunk to receive gifts at the wedding. Then will be a treasured item to pass on to the newlyweds.

i absolutely love it. I have a suitcase like that but one of the latches is broken. I've got to find a way to repair it. Where did you purchase the sunflower scrapbook paper please? You did an fantastic job!

The paint was Krylon. I didn't do any surface prep at all. Yes I used Midge Podge and didn't use any other sealer after that.
