My hubby has a wheel chair. When the family gathers, we need a flat patio, but the back yard has a slight downward grade

Do you want a flat or sloping patio? Confused. Any patio can be built up to make it level.

I think that the best way to go is hiring a professional company. They will know exactly what to do, and the results will be exactly what you’re looking for.

Any patio should slope only enough to drain water, about an 1/8 to a 1/4 inch of slope for each foot, directed away from your house. The patio itself is basically level, which means you need to level the area where you want your patio. You can add a paver ramp, wide enough for a wheelchair, that would not be too steep to access the patio

    Build it up with soil???

I would like to build it up. But. The back yard slopes from the property line. At the property line I have a dry creek to stop most of the rain. At the back door is our concrete patio with a ramp. At the end of the ramp, I have a french drain of sorts. I have plastic channel drain to be installed. So that water will flow down in that patio area. Yeah its a challenge. Thanks for the information
