My bathtub drain is full of hair. I have pulled out what I can but there is much below the drain holes that I can't get at. What do I do?

The tub drain holes are about as wide as a pencil. Do I have to take that whole piece out and get a new one so I can get these spikes to work?

Hi Judith. I'm Cindy. You need a drain snake. You push it in your drain as far as you can. And then twist it as you pull it out backwards. Hair and muck will attach to the barbs on the snake. You may have to repeat until the drain is clear. Best of luck to you.

Judy, most people do not know this but...you can indeed use a plunger on a tub drain. I do this every 2 months whether it needs it or not.

I mean, look at my hair. Trust me, it needs it.

Small Plungers cost a Dollar at Dollar Tree.

You should also while you are at dollar tree pick up 4 containers of Mister Plumber.

It is about the same as Liquid Plumber, it just costs less with a different name.

I used a wire hanger once to clear a drain. Just make sure to make a hook at the end when you gently move it done the drain.

My drain Was plugged! Neighbor came over, he bought stuff at Home Depot, comes in dark jug, then in a plastic zip lock bag! Believe me it is Magical!!! Leave undisturbed for 8 hours or so, actually dissolved all the hair!! DrainO..etc.. nothing worked until this! Harmless to pipes etc.
