The Stool on the Hill

Every few weeks I go to a funky auction, and it seems that I buy things that no one else wants. Because of that, I get pretty good bargains. This white stool was no beauty, but she was all right. She definitely needed a little love. The problem is I have plenty of stools already. And I mean PLENTY! To justify the purchase of yet another seat, I had to be a little creative with it's placement. I am experimenting with blue, a color I loved when I was in high school, but that was a long, long time ago. However, I've seen so many pretty shades of blue lately, it seemed like a good choice.
How did I do this?
1) Spray painted the stool blue.
2) Stenciled it with Martha Stewart stencils.
3) Used my printer and a Vivaldi font to create "The Stool on the Hill," then traced it to the seat using graphite paper.
4) Used a Sharpie oil paint pen to color in the lettering.
5) Put rubber caps on the bottom of the legs to protect them from moisture.
6) Put the stool on a hill. I live in the mountains; hills are not hard to find.
I expect to have morning glories twining up the stool before long; I'll post pictures.

Old flower pots and planters march up the hill. At the top is the stool, which will soon host morning glories.

I think this stool was well worth the dollar I paid for it!

She looks good in blue!

Here's the seat--painted, stenciled, and lettered. It was a fun project, and it's a neat addition to the gardens.
