I have I think a Elm growing in my yard, and squirrels have buried Maple seeds and now I have Maple saplings. I have cut them off down and dug some out. They grow right back. Please advise.

trees need to grow to mature. The best thing that you can do if mow mow mow. Don’t let your grass overgrow and in a few weeks the little trees should disappear during a “normal” summer. As you may know - there is a lot of rain in the east so if you are getting that rain, it could take a little longer for them to go away completely but mowing consistently will kill them seedlings off

We have weeds with stems as tough as a sapling. I cut them close to the ground and then carefully trickle weed killer on the raw cut. Does the job.
