Are you an artist? Do abstract? Papermache? Watercolors?
Perhaps a tile piece? A mosaic? Some Gorgeous fabric over a canvas to look like a painting?
A stenciled mirror.Make a large clock out of a round table.

A floating shelf would give you a place to add interest over the sofa with pieces.
Is the fir eplace in same room and want formal solution? Add 2 box frames on hinges that open from each side. Paint and add picture frames on top. When you open them you could add a flat picture to inside to add interest to outside of the tv. Or add flat planks painted and add a catchy phrase or something that goes with your decor.
