Ideally, 2 to 3 weeks before the last spring frost date. This makes sure the soil temperatures are ideal.

For winter collards, onions, and even potatoes, plant before the first frost and gather before the first freeze. If you live “up north” USA/Canada, plant in the heat of summer, gather in two months or less. Happy harvest, Jeremy! ☺️

In the springtime planting for 2-3 weeks before the last spring frost date to ensure that the plants receive the right amount of cold temperature for added flavour.
