How to make living room shelving?

My decor is nautical how can I make shelving for more room small apartment

    using crates works really well. you can get them at the craft stores and they can be stacked without any hardware. they are easy to use for moving as well when its time to move on.

    I love the use of rope! You can create "floating" shelves using some basic wood planks and some rope. You can see one method here, where we used belts instead of rope for a more funky feel: https://zestitup.com/diy-belt-bathroom-shelf/


    If you want a different route, you could easily stack some of the wooden crates that you get from Home Depot....you can paint some of them white and leave some the natural wood color for a fun nautical feel. Hope that helps!

    Use boat oars (find in flea markets) for legs and old boards for the shelves.

    I have seen regular board shelves dolled up with rope (or string depending on the size of the edge) tied with nautical knots and glued to the edges. It looks very authentic! Also, you can get scrapbook type of anchors and ships wheels or brass brads for the edges. Have fun with it!
