Rain water drainage problem! Help!
Recently moved into senior living area and home has drainage problem from rainwater. Pea gravel brought in but would like a more pleasant view from small patio. Heavy rains at times here in Florida. On limited income but comments and photos would be very appreciative.

I really like those hanging rain ropes. They go under different names. They are 10-15 feet long and decorated with rain catching cups. Hook it to you roof where you want the water to gather. As it rains the water flows down this cute hanging spout and on to the ground. They are not easy to locate so. I would Google it first. You can try any nursery that Carrie's garden decor. Online you might try Esty or Grommet
Have fun!
I had basically the same problem, lots of mud and little money to fix it. My solution? Plastic coffee containers, loosely filled with medium sized rocks, then buried at intervals a few inches under the soil. Works like a french drain, is sturdy enough to prevent the soil from becoming uneven, and as a bonus, kept the lawn from needing as much watering in the summer. Poke a few small holes in the bottom of each can, to allow slow drainage and wa la, problem solved,
I have rain chains. Nice to hear the tinkling when it rains, nice to watch & they freeze & make a beautiful winter display. Then I would put some big pots with plants- herbs with marigolds.
Plant Wysteria vines or Evening Prim Rose where the ground is getting most water!
These plants grow fast and can take the deluge of drainage.
Plus they're great at keeping soil erosion down!
Ask your nursery for type that right for your zone...or other "thirsty" plant options!!🌹🐾 Andrea Gaines.
I like the idea of the coffee containers underground to carry some of the water and the water tolerant plants. Hopefully, the ideas will be effective for you.
