How do I stain brick on my porch??

How do I stain brick. I have 2 styles of brick and would like to stain them to match, either with the same color or matching colors. I will attach pictures of my front porch and the 2 different styles of brick. I started this project 2 days ago and now stuck. Please help!

This is the left side of my porch...showing the 2 different bricks, the yellow natural brick and the long slates of brick.

Here is the right side of my porch. The brick is pretty much dry here and can see the color difference.

This my house. It is yellow and our shingles are the multi-color kind. We are also gonna work on updating the winows...whatever that means. Lol. We are unsure if we want to keep the windows or just use screen.

Such a cute house! I would personally paint the light brick columns white to match the trim, using a good concrete primer, then paint.

To stain brick is same as concrete. You need the colorant liquid and water to blend different colors, and you roll it on with a paint roller. Yours will not be an easy match, and may take several coats: brown then red then terra cotta, rather than double red with other splotched on here and there.

You should make splotches on a paint stick of a color on the card that matches the color of the brick. A sample paint costs $4 or less, Undoing a bad brick color costs more.

So you mix about 12 different varieties and after applying those to paint sticks, select the one you like best.

After that you mix up that mixture of part:parts:Parts and you should be able to get something very close to what you like by a combination of Quikcrete Concrete Colorants.

They do have on their website a means to figure out what coats and colors you need to create others, but if you cannot find that one, the belends are very similar to rit dye blends and you can go to the rit dye website to figure out your near match.

Very nice home, symmetrical my favorite. I would paint it white.

see how your white storm door and frame looks now it softens the look.

Also as Karen stated above paint the columns white too.

Painted brick adds lots of charm to already charming home.

Below shows how I used a product I ordered from England called DyeBrick. I went over the white and light colored brick to blend my brick more (top is done - the bottom is the original brick). It is very easy and has lasted 3 years through tough IL winters. It only took a couple of days to get from England. They have a ton of pictures on their website for you to look at. Go for it!

Your long stuff is not brick, but stone (though maybe the faux kind)--they REALLY shouldn't match. I'll agree that they aren't the greatest color combo though. I wouldn't touch that lovely yellow brick, but using the stain colorants (or even exterior grade paint for concrete) pick a couple of sandstone colors cream, beige, a bit of darker brown(including a lovely yellow like your brick) and do it stone by stone mixing different colors onto one piece. Maybe paint each piece a base color (or two) with a brush then dab on accent colors with a rag &/or sponge . Get you a couple pieces of real sandstone for inspiration if you need it. Then you can do the same to the gray faux stones of your flower bed.

My 100+ y/o house had the front porch closed off years ago using stone faced cement. Since my foundation is sandstone, I'm getting ready to paint them in exactly the way I explained. LOL-My bricks are red, as are the blocks like yours I used to make my raised flower bed!
