Is there a sure-fire way to get rid of Creeping Charley?
You can make a mixture of 1 gallon white vinegar, 1 cup salt, 1 tbsp dish soap. Mix and spray. I've been using this to kill grass popping up in various places around the house and it works well.
Wear rubber gloves and dab vegetation killer on with a rag.
A good DIY solution for killing ornamental grass....
Cut the ornamental grass with pruning shears to about 2 inches above ground. Put all of your clippings in a plastic bag to keep seeds from spreading and to prevent future growth.
Fill a spray bottle with vinegar and a couple squirts of dish soap. Saturate the freshly cut plants with the solution in your spray bottle. If your plants have not begun to brown and die in 24 hours, saturate them again.
Another easy way to kill the ones that you do not want...
Once you have pruned the plants, boil a pot of water, add 1/4 cup salt per gallon. Pour this solution on top of the plants that you are want to kill off.
This solution also works very well for grass and weeds growing in your cement or brick areas.
