I purchased a (project) place that has Venetian Gold granite counters and cherry wood shade cabinets. A more updated look is preferred, but a complete kitchen reno with new cabinets and quartz counters is not in the budget. Does anyone have suggestions for a backsplash that will not be too busy for the granite, as well as a white shade to paint the cabinets? With all the shades of white out there, it gets confusing!
Find a few paint colors on strips & check the colors in different lights (sunlight, room light & combo of the two). See which colors you like best. I had mauve carpet in a rental that was white but when I painted a rosy tan the carpet changed to tan.
When I look at the pic of the kitchen what is see needing being done is the space between the counter and the refrigerator. The cabinets might not be the color you would prefer, but they look like they are all of a piece, if you know what I mean and the space I am speaking of looks like it needs attention For myself I like Benj. Moores OW 30 white, but I would leave the cabinets for now, actually if it isn't too much money I would replace the counter tops, if that is pricey (which I'm sure it is) I would pick the very palest color (not white) from the quartz and choose that. I would also stay away from a trendy installation, that would date the backsplash in the future. Good luck, you have a nice kitchen.
Get a neutral field tile and use decorative tiles scattered around. Order samples of decorative tiles online. And put them all along the countertop and decide what you like best. This kitchen countertop doesn't have gold in it but it has all of the colors in the backsplash. When a complete remodel is in the budget, be sure to reconfigure the kitchen to get the most use of the space. I can see wasted spaces that could be used with a different layout.

Hi Nanci,
You could go for the grey in the tops for the colour of the cabinets, and Copper coloured Splashback. Enjoy the process............
